Big George is a simple story about what it means to be a working artist in our business, and the struggles and questions that never stop for anyone who decides to follow a dream. The piece came out of group of NY actors and creators desperate to reconnect after the pandemic took away many livelihoods and nearly all of our ability to interact in real life with our peers. The collaborative, connective work that feeds us basically has disappeared in a world of remote auditions and meetings. And we wanted to tell the story of the huge, strange middle class of our business: a middle which is right now fighting for its very survival.
